The Server on the computer, the app on the phone.

You need both. The Server is what actually works for you; the app on the phone is its remote control. The Service through which the two devices find each other is run by us — there is nothing else to download and nothing to set up.

coden for your computer

Your workspace and your Server in one. The window keeps the whole project at hand — a file tree, tabs and the Conversation at the side. And when you step away from the desk, the same app keeps working as the Server for your phone. One click starts it, no terminal needed.

A SHA-256 checksum is listed with every package. Verify it after downloading: shasum -a 256 <soubor>

Debian and Ubuntu: via APT

A downloaded package is reported as untrusted by every package manager, because it does not come from a configured source — the same as anybody else's. Adding the repository removes the warning, and new versions arrive with a plain apt upgrade.

Requires Ubuntu 22.04 or newer; older systems do not have a recent enough glibc. Node 18 and up has to be added separately on Ubuntu 22.04 — its repositories only carry 12.

The app on your phone will tell you when a new version is out. You then download the installer with coden-server --update — you install it yourself; the Server does not overwrite itself while running.
