10 reasons to code with an AI agent through coden

Your data stays with you, the Agent works without you and you direct it from your phone. Ten reasons to stop waiting at your monitor and code from anywhere.

An AI agent today writes code faster than any of us. But most of the time it is not writing — it is waiting. For your “yes, go ahead”, for the next task, for you to get back to your computer. Coden removes the waiting: the Agent works on your computer and you direct it from anywhere. Here are ten reasons it is worth a try.

1. Your data stays with you

Coden has no cloud your repository gets copied into. Your code, your Conversation history and your tasks live on your computer and your devices — not on someone else’s server. The Agent runs under your account, in your environment, with your own keys to the model provider; the provider sees only what it would see if you ran Claude Code in a terminal.

Only documentation and images are mirrored to your phone — never source code. The connection is encrypted end to end, and even when traffic goes through our Relay, all we see are encrypted datagrams. We have no way to read what passes through it — and we store none of it.

2. The Agent keeps working while you are away

Hand over the work and walk away. The Agent keeps going — reading code, changing files, running tests — and disconnecting your phone does not stop it. The Server records every step, and when you reconnect, everything you missed arrives in the right order.

Your lunch break or your commute home stops being the hour when nothing happens on your project.

3. Run your whole development from your phone

Your phone is not just a remote trigger. You give tasks from it, follow every step the Agent takes — which file it reads, what it changes, which command it ran and what came back — and stop it whenever you like. Permission requests are approved with a single tap.

The same app gives you tests with their run history, git with branches and commits, documentation with rendered diagrams, and explanations of code you do not understand. You never have to go back to your computer for any of it.

4. Code from anywhere

A tram, a cabin in the woods, an airport, a doctor’s waiting room. Wherever you have your phone, you can develop — your computer stays at home and does the heavy lifting for you.

Your phone and computer find each other on their own, even when both sit behind NAT and get a different address every time. You can read your project’s documentation even on a plane, because it is stored on your phone and works without signal.

5. Plan your tasks months ahead

An idea, a bug, a new feature — write it into Tasks straight from the app, the moment it occurs to you. The Backlog holds your work for weeks or months ahead, sorted by state: Backlog, To do, To review, Sent back, Done.

When the time comes, one button sends the Agent everything waiting to be done, and it works through it one task after another. Finished work moves to To review; anything that is not right you send back with a comment, and that comment goes into the Agent’s next assignment. Instead of twenty prompts, you write one list.

6. All your devices stay in sync

Your phone and the desktop app work with the same Server at the same time and see the same things: the same Conversations, the same tasks, the same pending permissions. Finish at the tram stop what you started at your desk, and the other way round.

Only what has changed is transferred, so syncing is fast even on mobile data and uses about as much as a chat app.

7. It lets you know when it needs you

You do not have to keep an eye on the app. When the Agent finishes, you get a notification — even with the app closed. And when it wants to run a command or write a file, your phone vibrates and you decide, wherever you are.

The defaults are cautious: nothing dangerous happens without your permission. You grant standing permission for a kind of action once you trust it.

8. Try the result right on your phone

The app the Agent started on your computer opens in Preview right on your phone — with touch controls and hot reload. You click through a new screen on the very display you are building it for. When everything is right, you commit from the Git tab.

9. Up and running in minutes

No server of your own, no public IP address, no port forwarding. Install the Server, scan a QR code and you are connected. You pair once — after that you never need to be at your computer to connect, not even three months later.

And if you are not a fan of the terminal, start the Server right from the desktop app: pick the project folder and click Start Server.

10. Free — you only pay for the model

The app costs nothing. You only pay for what the Agent uses at the model provider — just as when you run Claude Code in a terminal. No subscription for the privilege of reaching your own computer from your phone.

In one sentence: coden gives you back the time you used to spend waiting at your computer, without taking away either your control over what the Agent does or your data. To get started, see the Getting started guide.
